66 Coupe Headliner

Are there any differences in the material used for 65 and 66 headliners?

A friend has a 66 and says the vinyl is sagging on his headliner. He has a standard vinyl interior. My 65 is a type of fiberboard. I suspect someone has covered his in vinyl in the past. Anyone know for sure?

Headliner material used in both coupe and convertible hardtop DID change from fiberboard to vinyl with foam backing in 1966. The vinyl loosening from the foam backing is a common aging problem with the later 'improved' headliner material...

both 66 and 67 are vinyl but they differ in configuration in that there are depressions to accomidate the sunvisors on the 67 headliner. mike
