Other "hints" to look for would be a hole in the firewall behind the distributor for the tach cable, a eight grand tach driven from the distributor, a four inch pulley on the generator, the absence of tach drive on the generator. All this info leans towards an original 290hp F.I. car.
However, to my knowledge The General did not apply '57 F.I. script to any 1958's.
