    ORIGINAL VS REPO TIRES

I have a full set of Goodyear redlines 7-75-15 and was hoping someone could help me determine orig or repo. I have had these tires forever it seems. I have been told that D.O.T. # are on repos but i can not find any anywhere. Is there anything else i could look for that is a sure sign one way or another. Thanks

Nylon Cord? Exact wording of the markings on the sidewalls, especially near the bead?

Probably Original, although I believe the Kelsey Goodyear may be nylon cord, but they have only been available for the last 6 or 7 years.

          Glen -

If they don't have DOT numbers molded into the back side, I wouldn't use them for anything but rolling on and off a trailer.

              Glen,

What John is saying is that tires without DOT markings are so old they are "unsafe at any speed".

They can be used for judging but I would never drive a tire that old at any significant speed and certainly not for any distance....around the block maybe.
