    1967 Big Block casting dates

I have the protecto plate from the original owner for my 427/390HP that shows an engine assembly date of February 1, 1967. The original engine is long gone. I have an opportunity to buy a standard bore correct block with casting date A 24 7 (January 24, 1967). That is 7 days before my engine assembly. 8 if there was a Saturday shift. Noland Adams book shows 5 of 17 examples of 7 or less days between casting and assembly. Do you feel this is too short a time frame between casting and assembly? What about a .30 over bore with casting date December 17, 1966 that is also available to me? Both about the same price.

No, It's perfectly reasonable given the proximity of the Foundry and the Engine plant on essentially the same plot of ground.
