In the latest edition of the '67 Judging Manual, there is a chart given with the various date codes for the glass windows and windshield. For instance, all of my glass windows have a code of JZ which is May, '67.
However as far as the folding top back window goes, all the JM says is that it must have the manufacture date. My question is... do the same date codes which apply to the glass also apply to the ragtop? Thanks, PT
The convertible back window date code format is M-YY, where "M" is the month and "YY" is the year; it's on page 54 of the Fourth Edition under "Convertible Folding Top Back Window".
I expect that the dated glass- May 67 is original glass or matches with the date of your car?
I just had my car flight judged and the original window glass in my car is dated August 66 for a 12-66 built car. My back window in my folding top is 12-66 and the judges commented that they would like to have seen an earlier date by a few months.
