    905 FI Distributor advance curve specs

    Does anyone have these at their fingertips or nearby? I'm at work and don't have those--and they're ready to spin my distributor and I want to make sure that they have the right specs. --for 57 905 283/283 FI car with 4580 unit.

      Mike, I assume you are talking about 1110905, if so, spec is .5-2.5 degrees at 400, 6.5-8.5 @ 775, 9.5-11.5 @ 1600, and 13-15 @ 2500, all distributor RPM, and distributor advance, not really very agressive, and enough variation to understand why some cars were more "Stout" than others.

          Rev. Mike, Since Bill Clupper gave you the specs in Distr rpm here is a version in Engine RPM and Dist degrees.
          Start 800/.5-2.5, Intermediate 1500/ 6.5-8.5 3200/ 9.5-11.5 5000/ 13-15
          Dwell is typically about 33.
          By the way your 4580 unit is a rare one. You know I had a couple of 4520 units that were school units. 7014538's. Sorta weird units in that they were made up of various 57 FI castings. Mixture of sand cast and die cast parts. Don't think they were ever used on a car though-just the class room. United Delco course at the GM tech centers in the early 60's had them. John
