C1 Front License Plate Bracket

Hi all,

The '60 AIM shows the license plate braket bar being attached with a flat washer and a lock washer that appear to be on the opposite side from where they should be. I saw an original car with a star washer under the nut and no lock or flat. Was the star washer the only washer used or were some bars put on with lock and flat washers (under the nut, of course)?

Bob,

I believe star washers are only used where electrical connections exist. I am subject to correction.

Kent,

I think that most electrical connections had a star washer, but not every star washer meant an electrical connection. The side bolts for the licence plate frame all use star washers and this is in the AIM. I have just grown tired of switching out stuff that came on my fairly original car only to later find that it was correct!
