Replacing a Carb - what else to replace?

Hello,

In case of replacing a Carter AFB 3720 with a correct 3721 on a '65 Corvette, 300 hp, mt, what should be replaced, too, regardless of any signs of wear, i.e. use only one time:
- Baffle plate?
- Insulator spacer?
- Gasket?
- Nuts?
- anything else?

The gasket should always be replaces.None of the rest needs replaced unless car is to be judged and you have the wrong pieces.

If everything is used only one time the only thing I would do is plug the small heat crossover holes in the manifold just under the carburetor. This is easy to do and will keep alot of heat off your AFB. Also, if the bottom of the AFB has suffered damage from heat crossover in prior life, consider installing a thin gasket under the carburetor (above the stainless shield) to make sure good vacuum seal. If you plug the crossover holes, still use the factory gasket configuration.
