    C1 Oil Fill Cap

    Hello,

I have an Oil Fill Cap that was on my '63 dating back to the mid 80's (probably further) and I was wondering what the proper application for it is.

It is a chrome cap with AC and OIL scripted on the top along with two lines.
The reverse has what seems to be a wire mesh inside slots around the outer edge.

Anyone know if this cap is correct for C1's?

    Thanks!
    Syd

I assume that you're talking about a "high hat", push-on style cap. If so, the cap you described sounds like a second design, 1962 Corvette cap. If I recall correctly, base engine and 300 hp were vented design and 340 hp and FI were non-vented.

      Thanks very much Joe!
Yes, it is a push-on style cap and I believe it is non-vented.

There were quite a few parts on my '63 that while not correct for the year, seem to be old vintage parts for other Vette years.

      Thanks again,
      Syd

If it has mesh, it's vented.
