A friend has a 66 and has asked me where to have his vent window frames restored and the glass replaced. My knowledge is limited to C1's. Is there anyone doing this work or it simply a matter best done by the owner? Any info is appreciated.
Charlie Santorelli at Seatbelt Sity is also doing vent window restorations. 908-719-2354. I have not seen any but if they are as good as his seatbelts, they will be outstanding.
If you live near the West Coast, you might want to call Charlie Sihilling of Sihilling's Metal Polish at 714-543-7051.
I had them re-chrome my vent assemblies (without glass) and they did an outstanding job. Don't know if they install glass, but suspect they could find someone nearby to do that for you.
Good luck,
Dave
My friend contacted Santorelli and got a price of $600. without the glass...don't know if that was for the set or one side but either way that seems far out..what say you??..guess we'll have to tackle it ourselves.
