To the right of the axle number is an F what does this signify. Above it is an H which right of the VIN.

Kenneth - I believe that in 1970, the last digit of the axle number code represented the plant that produced the differential. The H to the right of the VIN would represent the carburetor source, i.e., a Holly carb. I would assume these locations would be the same for a 66 POP, but I'm not sure.

Kenneth - I may have misunderstood where you stated the F was located. If it's right under the H (and not a part of the axle code), this location may represent the month your car was built. It does for 1970, but in that year this figure was a number, not a letter. Check your assembly manual for your year - it'll decode all of these figures.

It is the "Vehicle Build Month Code" and "F" translates to October.

My '66 coupes' POP has an "F" code and was built 10/21/65. The character location chart is in the Corvette information package available through GM; the codes are in the Assembly Manual.
