I installed the windshield in my 64 roadster last night. I had read several posts after an inquiry about installing the wshield with the lower moulding already in place. I was concerned about damaging the lower moulding when installing it the usual way, glass first then moulding. I have installed many wshields over the years but never in a mid year. Well, I decided to try it and it worked very well. I don't think it was any harder than installing it the other way. I first used new clips from Paragon (USA made) then installed the lower moulding. After that I placed the new gasket around the new glass then "roped" it in the usual manner.

Re: C2 windshield installation
Dennis,
Thanks for the insight. I can see where your method might work well, since you deal with any flakey clip and molding issues before the glass is in. I installed my '66 coupe window the other way, which worked well for the most part. However, there were 2 or 3 clips that needed a lot of work in order to get the molding to fit. I'll try your technique next time.

Re: C2 windshield installation
Dennis,
What manufacturer's windshield did you install...and was it necessary to do any t******* of the glass to get it to fit properly? I've read posts suggesting that nobody makes one that fits as original without t******* it.- Top
