Need pic of C1 underhood blackout masking

Hi,

Does anyone have a pic of the correct masking of the underhood trim for my '62?
I am having some paintwork done on my car and I need picture or two to show the body shop how it should be done.

The Judging manual says the "paint was applied to the underside of the hood panel lip, about 1 inch wide, stopping at start of radius of underside reinforcement panel. The paint margin line was achieved with a paint mask and may be slightly irregular and is not a criso line. Paint margin extends forward at front of car; does not wrap around forward lip of hood panel."

Paul, Don't know if it'll help, but here are some shots I just took of my early, very rough 62 #483. There is heavy overspary on the 1" horizontal lip on both sides. The prior owner may have painted the 1" lip white. He spray painted the entire car with spray bombs over the last 35 years, so he may have decided to touch up the entire horizontal area on both sides. I can see black under the overspray. I used a pocket knife and scraped the white away to see it(pic#1 & 2).

Also note the last pic. As I was looking around I saw this. Must be the "toolkit holder", attached to a relocated aftermarket horn.:-)

I'm glad folks are asking these questions now. Makes me take more pictures!

Thanks for the responses guys. I have the manual, but I would like to see how the forward most portion of the hood is done? I understand that the black does not go around the front, but I would like a good picture of it?
Also, if you don't use tape to cut the lines, how do you do it so that it looks correct?

I don't bother with the "Optional Image URL:" box in the post display, I just copy/paste the url links of my files into the post I write up.

I finally looked at the undrside of my 62 hood. It is bare fiberglass, not painted white or black. I tried to photograph, using a mirror, but could not get a good shot. I was surprised it wasn't painted.
