I am attempting to dress us the 400ci small block in my 64 Convertible. (sorry purists but it came that way). I would like to use the finned aluminum 327 valve covers and I will be installing an oil fill tube in the front of the aftermarket intake manifold which will have a breather cap. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I might further ventilate the crankcase (the 400 does not have a blowby tube)WITHOUT putting holes in the valve covers? Would it be possible to tap into the oil valley through the intake manifold and install a PCV between the oil valley and holley carb? I would appreciate your creative ideas.

Yup, you can use a vented cap on the oil fill tube as the "intake" side, and drill a hole through the intake into the lifter valley (not into a runner) for a grommet and PCV valve, with a hose to the PCV port on the carb base. You'll need to fabricate a simple baffle to keep oil splash off the end of the PCV valve, or use a Moroso or Mr. Gasket baffled grommet for it.
