I removed my starter to clean it up as I was going to install new Lectic Limited batery cables. It looks as if it had never been off( 35K). The starter is 1107320 7 C 15 , Delco Remy USA then below that 7 A. What is the 7 A? Another question, The original battery positive cable had a cloth sleeve with a wire ring holding it on the cable where it drops down to the starter. I am inclinded to take the end off the new cable put the cloth sleeve on it and reinstall the old end. The old end is heavier and crimped and soldered on. The new is crimped only. The original cable was stranded brass and the new Lectric Limited is aluminium stranded wire. Any ideas will be welcomed. Dale

Original cables were stranded copper, not brass. LL probably used a marine-grade conductor which has tin-coated copper strands (not aluminum). Linked below is fellow in AZ (Vince) that does very good work. Perhaps he can help you swap terminals & install the sleeve, etc.

Re: 67 SB starter and battery cables
Thanks guys, I got it done. I got the sleeve off the old cable and put it in the new cable. I saw that the new cables were silver covered brass( I meant to say brass early this AM, but it came out copper). I thank everyone for the help. Dale- Top
