I have a.o. ordered new carpet and jute padding for my 68 with Al Knoch. I am currently discussing shipping fees (to Amsterdam, Europe), which is fairly expensive (to say the least) so a box saved is a dollar earned. People at Al Knoch suggested to have the jute already mounted to the carpet. This is helpful in respect of saving dollars but I doubt whether this is original (or will affect an original look). I am inclined to say NOT to mount it to the carpet.
Any thoughts on this are highly appreciated!
I recently removed the original carpeting from my 1969 coupe and the jute padding was attached to the carpet. Not sure if it became attached after all of these years or if it was actually glued to the carpet.
