    '69 Rear Defogger Resto

Finishing up the resto on my rear defogger (for '69 coupe) and have a badly cracked plastic duct (#3925768). By chance is this part, and the hose (#3937902) connecting the blower to the duct, still available from GM? If not does anyone have suggestions on an adhesive for the duct. I am betting that this piece is made from polyethylene or polypropylene which are extremely difficult to bond.

    Thanks,

    Craig

    Craig-----

The GM #3925768 was discontinued many years ago without supercession. The GM #3937902 was never available in SERVICE.

The duct is made from polypropylene and is very difficult or impossible to bond with adhesive. I understand, though, that there may be an adhesive on the market now that will work on polypropylene. It might be a 3M product.

Joe and Craig. Both 3M and SEMS have an adheasive that will work on polypropylene

I thought the hose was the same cloth covered spiral wire supported flex stuff that you typically see in a larger diameter on C1 fresh air duct. No???

Nobody ever told me it was bogus in buuba speak or incorrect in club parlance. But after the millenium I CRS. My computer didn't accept Y2K either.

Yes, I believe the hose is as you described. Once-upon-a-time, I think this stuff was available in "bulk" and that's why GM didn't usually service the individual pieces.
