    Carburator Mounting question C2 L79 1966

I looked at past posts for the answer to this, but only could find answers regarding Cast manifolds and Carbs, so please bear with me.

I am going to mount my rebuilt 3367 carb on my L79 motor, aluminum manifold. I looked in the AIM and it only showed a single gasket between the carb and manifold.

Do I need the steel gasket as well as the fiber gasket or was this just used on the Cast manifoldes?

Just to make sure the Gaskets are put on dry with no sealer.... Correct?

    Any other tips?

    Thanks for your patience.

    Nick

    Nick,

Just one gasket like you AIM shows, steel shield is only used for cast manifolds with heat slot. I have never put any sealant on a carburetor gasket. Also, make sure your heat riser valve is opening and closing freely.

      Thanks Tim,

      Appreciate the info.

I will check the Heat riser for proper operation.

      Have a Great Week.
