    61-62 jack

I understand the jack is painted black as an assembly. Is the lead screw, hex, and bushing also painted? Or was it just the result of overspray without the intention of painting them (lead screw, hex, & bushing)?
    thank you

    Gene--
I believe that the jack was dip-painted, and the screw added after the painting, so the screw was natural finish. The "head" of the screw (into which the jack handle is inserted) was also painted. I've seen original jacks that had the bearing painted, and jacks that had the bearing unpainted. The majority I've seen were painted bearings, however. (THe NOS 62 jack I had in the original box had an unpainted bearing)
