    1975 Radio Problem...

Hello everyone!!! I just joined the NRCS and just bought a 1975 convertible L82; my first corvette!!! Everything works except the clock and the right speaker...Any ideas on why my right channel speaker won't work? I checked the connections, look ok. My OHM meter says the speaker is getting juice. Left channel works fine. Doesn't matter if I have it in AM or FM, same result: no right speaker. I have a 1975 L82 vette with AM/FM Stereo Radio from Factory. When I turn the bottom dial that switches channel from left to right, no effect. Thank you in advance.

How do you tell a speaker is 'getting juice' with an ohm meter?

Joe, You can switch speaker wires, if the speaker that wasn't working then works, the problem will be the radio or convector(outputs).

Hi Joe, welcome to the club. I've got a 75' also, and I had the same problem with my left speaker, replaced it, no problem.

is it a stereo or mono. heres an old school way to test the speaker and harness. take a 9v battery and connect a wire to each post(+ and-) unplug the spkr lead at the radio and touch speaker wires (2) TO THE 2 battery wires. if the spk wourks it will make a popping sound telling you the wiring and spk is capable of producing sound. if the speaker and wires are good and it is a stereo you have a channel out but not usually it could be a cold solder conn. i have replaced speakers on delcos that have been out for years and they bounce right back most times. i have installed car radios for a living for 33 yrs and owned my own shop for 25+
