Has anyone on this board ever sold a corvette in pieces? I've had mine apart for about 25 years waiting for that magical day when I'll have enough time and money to put it back together correctly. Doesn't look like it's gonna happen. Nothing special about the car except that it's mostly all there. It is a 62 base car that has been stripped of all paint and parts and body lifted. Should I sell car as a project or would I be better off parting it out? Thoughts???

You may easily get more money for the parts if ebay'ed separately. However, I'd personally hate to see a complete car get sold across the country if it just needs someone to put it back together.
If it has no motor, trans or running gear, then you may have too much of it gone to try and appeal to someone interested in restoring it.
Just my thoughts.

Daniel,
Sorry you have lost interest. Without seeing what you have it's very difficult to suggest your most profitable exit strategy.
If the body is a patchwork of aftermarket repairs and the frame needs some straightening and/or rust repair work you might just as well sell it off in pieces. People looking for odds and ends for their own projects would buy parts rather than the whole lot.
If you have an unhit body with a clean, straight frame AND a transferable title keep it together and sell it as a project car.
It takes alot of time to sell off pieces. You need to make a list of your entire inventory and assign a fair market value for each item. An important factor is the quality of the piece parts you have. If they are restorable or just junky ole parts it will make a big differnce.
Once you have an itemized list priced out, you can always try to sell the whole thing for the sum of the parts. If no one bites, you can do it the hard way.
good luck,

Re: part-out a corvette????? Advice....
You would be better off selling the car as is, if you want to part it out on ebay the cost of selling is aprox 7% by the time you get paid, each listing will take aprox 5 minns, you would have aprox 300-400 parts to sell and its very time consuming, also add time for shipping and the problems that come with selling (aprox 1-2% of sales have a shipping problem) and dont forget the scammers.............Good luck John- Top

Re: part-out a corvette????? Advice....
Danno, sorry you lost interest, and not to sound like a blind idealist, but if the car is pretty much "all there" then, for gods sake, sell it as a project car to someone who can put it back together. At the end of the day the world will be a better place with another Corvette in it.
And on a realistic note, having sold stuff on ebay myself, do not take lightly the other post warning about the time, expense and aggravation inherent in Ebay transactions of that volume. It would become a full time job and it is always harded to hold on to the money when it comes in in dribs and drabs...if you sell it as a project you will get a lump sum at once that is easier to retain...and maybe roll it into a driver! Good Luck.
