    Help Restoring a 66 Stingray

I have recently inheritted a '66 Stingray from my father. The car has slipped into a sad state of deterioration, and as a present to him I am going to have it fully restored. He was the original owner and all the numbers match. I am looking for a quality company with a good reputation to do the job. Any referrals would be greatly appreciated. I am not worried about price, I just want the job done right. I want the car to be perfect because it will make my father very happy! Thanks.

You may want to contact Ken and Gary Naber in Houston. They have been doing full restorations of mid-year Corvettes for more than twenty years. They are still in the same huge building that they set up for this work in 1975. Their shop phone number is (713) 664-5018. You haven't seen their ads because they don't have to run any to stay loaded with work. They are honest, experienced men who can be trusted to do it right. And no, I am not a relative or financially linked to them in any way. I just have seen many of the cars that they've restored.

Re: Help Restoring a 66 Stingray - Nabers Motors

I must echo Mr. Bamlett's reccomendation on Ken & Gary Nabers. Simply some of the finest work available at a matching integrity level. (I've been bothering them with questions for 14 years now...they're lucky I recently moved to Austin...!)

I appreciate the response. I have received several other suggestions such as Baird, in PA, and County Corvette, also in PA. Any info on these guys? Thanks again, and I will definitely contact Nabers Motors.

Nabers are some of the best in the country.

Where are you located? We may be able to suggest someone closer to you as well.

Quality, perfection and honesty describe Ken and Gary Naber. Over the years I have seen many of their restorations. In my opinion, and that of many others, they do the finest corvette restoration in the country. Call any of the major corvette dealers and ask for a reference, look in any magazine or auction brochure listing corvettes and you usually see a car listed with a Nabers restoration. They are first class gentlemen. Do yourself a favor and go with them, they are the best!

                Dan,

I am recommending Hill's Corvette service in Lewisville, Ohio. It is located in the southeast corner of Ohio near West Virginia. The addresss and phone are as follows:

                Hills Corvette service 33453 SR 78 Lewisville, Ohio 43754 Phone/Fax 614-567-3828

They have been in business for 15 years. I have owned a car painted by them and have seen their work.

Naber brothers is definately the place to go, but you might try these guys they are a little closer.

                John
