To show you how off it is...my 78 Pace Car is an April 05 78 build date yet the birthday calculator estimates it as March 1st! Go figure.

When I put in my cars serial# it gave me the exact body build date for my car. Generally speaking, how much time after the build date of the body was the car built (St.Louis body, 1966)?

i don't see how far off it can be using known st louis ser#'s and build dates i have a AO smith car, build date 11/12/65 and by using the registry to find cars before my vin and just after i zero'd in on 11/22 or 11/23. the calculator said 11/23. i would say this is probably right but what differance does it make if it cannot be verified? but it is nice to be able to have some idea when you have an AO smith car.

Re: Don't put too much stock in birtday estimator

Production numbers were quite different from the mid 60's to the late 70's. By the mid 70's, production numbers were running upper 30k and by 76 jumped to upper 40k's which may account for the estimation differences. More easy to be accurate with smaller numbers than large.

I have a 77 and a 76 and the calculator nails my trim tag dates exactly.
