I'm trying to determine if my 1969 covette was a original 427.Was there a difference in the size of the fuel line from the tank to the pump or from the pump to the carb. Thanks Rick

Re: 1969 clone 427
From what I understand Rick the fuel line sizes were the same with the difference being that the quadrajet cars had a supply and return line(these two were of different size) and the Holley Carburated cars only had a single fuel line.
Did you try GM Canada Vintage Vehical Services yet?- Top

Re: 1969 clone 427
Hi Rick:
I will check tonight when I get home. My 1969 L-36 (Q-JET) was the only 427 with a return line from the pump to the tank. I think the carb line was 3/8 ID and the return was 5/16 ID. The higher HP 427's were either 3x2 or 4bbl Holleys...Best of my knowledge. If you think you have a "clone" look for evidence (clips; old markings on the frame etc) of a second fuel line. Again, my recollection is they ran together on the frame, but I will check for you Joe- Top

Re: 1969 clone 427
Hi Rick: I checked: the primary feed to the carb is 3/8. The return (from the inline filter) to the tank is 5/16. They run together down the right frame rail. I am not aware of any 69 with a similar set-up except the L-36. good-luck...joe- Top

Look for other clues. Rear sway bar or not? Caps or U-bolts on the rear axle u-joint caps? Redline on the tach?- Top
