I have a 1965 corvette coupe w/o AC. I checked the date coding of all the glass. The windshield is showing date code of JJ, drivers and passenger side windows and vents are showing date codes of JG, TG, and UG. The rear window is NJ. The build date of the car is March 1965, so it looks like the only correct date coded glass is the rear window. Please correct me if I am wrong. I have been told the glass should be one to two months prior to build date and probably never more than 6 months earlier. Also, how do I confirm if the car was originally supplied with soft ray tinted glass? All the current glass does not have "soft ray" written on it. I can not find any documentation with the car to indicate tinted windows were on the car originally. Thanks for any help on this issue.

Re: C2 Glass
I don't a listing of dates corresponding the your date codes so I can't comment on them.
The glass codes on my 67 coupe were 10 months ahead of my build date....
Not a problem with judging.
Are the windows really tinted or slightly greenish due to age???? You might want to check a known tinted glass car to see the degree of tinting.- Top

C2 Glass; date code range
Michael,
The TIM&JG allows glass dates to be up to 1 year prior to the car's build date. My '66 has all it's original glass and one vent window is 8 months prior to the build date. The rest of my glass is within 2 or 3 months.
