    late 1969 intake

    I have a 12/1/69 built base 350/300hp. I have searched the archives for threads on this but with no definative answer. Can someone shed additional light on this.

    JM calls for a 3927184 intake. My car has a 3965577.

    Block date 11/1/1969
    Engine build 11/15/1969
    Intake 10/1/1969

    Can this be?

      Ralph, even though the manual calls for this to be a '70 intake, late production cars like yours, I think that generally the judges would accept it. Note made to do more research for the '68-'69 manual. Dang, the notes are getting thicker than the manual. The more we learn about these varmits, the less we realize we know.

          I know the 3965577 was used on 1970 engines. Just need to know if someone has seen a 3927184 dtaed this late in production on a 69 block.

              That is what I figured, but looking in the archives some judges think differently. The intake is a pretty big hit.
              Hope a new JM is slated before I finish this car.

                  I have a Dec 15,1969, build date 350/350. When I bought the car it had a 1970 intake on it, and it also had incorrect slant plug heads. It had been judged several times with the 1970 intake and had not received a deduct for it. (The heads had also had not received a deduct because the plugs are hard to see with the ignition shielding.)

                  I changed the intake when I changed the heads so I would not have problems with judging.

                      Hope a new JM is slated before I finish this car And how long are you planning to live? Quite a way from even starting serious work on a new '68-'69 manual. Still gathering info.

                              Yes, I beleive I found the correct intake at Paragon and I got the heads on Ebay.

                                  Ralph, I do not think that I would change the car to match the manual until we do more research. I have a feeling that you are not the only one with a '70 intake
