    Off Subject

Did anyone else receive a mass mailing to join the National Street Machine Club? Is anyone already a member? Opinions ... good, bad or otherwise?
    Regards,

kent: i got the solicitation offer and sent the card in. got a bunch of junk and a couple magazines, 90% of which were advertisements. i eventually declined the subscription. haven't gotten any threatening letters from them. as my dad told use kids years ago, "there ain't no such thing as a free lunch". avoid them. mike

        Re: Off Subject

I had a subscription for a year, let it lapse. Magazine was weak, they also do a "book of the month club" type deal, I kept the one on painting and body work and sent every other one back. Shipping the books back at your expense is a pain. Even after you send it back, they keep sending bills. The "product testing" is a joke, All I got to "test" was a bungee cord for a WD40 red spray nozzle...

I joined about a year ago and generally agree with the comments so far. I think they are mainly trying to sell books. The magazines usually had little or no articles of interest to Corvette owners. Now they are trying to make me a "life member" at a super rate. At my age it would not be a good deal anyway.

I signed up with this outfit as a "charter member" (who pee!) but after a year of their rather weak magazine I gave it up. Product testing? Discounts? Better things to do with your $'s Kent.
            Best regards,
            Charlie
