I love it when I post all at once. Next question. I'm having some minor brake problems. The brakes are pulling slightly to one side, and when I apply more than light pressure I get the brake warning light. I've bled the brakes and found that two are sucking a lot of air, hence part of the problem, I know. I plan on repairing or replacing the system this winter to eliminate this problem. My dilema, should I have my calipers, etc. rebuilt, or do I replace them with new o-ring style and SS lines. If I do the later, what kind of a hit am I going to take at a NCRS judging event. The car is a top flight winner now as an unrestored car, and I plan on restoring it to top fligh standards wherever possible.

Re: 1972 brake question
You have several options. One is having your calipers rebuilt, costs extra to get your calipers back. Two is exchanging calipers with a vendor, you can get standard or o ring pistons, your choice. I would go with the standard steel lines and not take any points hit. You will not take any flight points deduction with either of the caliper choices.Dick Whittington- Top

Re: 1972 brake question
Your brake system is not working correctly. What good are matching numbers if you can't stop? I would check the rotor runout and get it to .002 or less, check the bearing endplay as well- I set them to .0015-.002" with the rotors corrected,if needed, then address the calipers. If they are not SS lined then get a set. If the run out and endplay is correct you don't need O ring calipers.
Good luck
