I got back from BG last night. Lots of great cars. The Special Collection had 57 air box fuelies. That was quite a sight. I'm still partial to C2s so this 34,000 mile 427/435 survivor with all original paint and interior caught my eye. I went with cash in hand but couldn't find any parts I needed. The quantity and quality of original and NOS parts seems to be down each year. Still had a good time even though I returned empty handed.

Re: Early Report From Bloomington
Nice pic Don! Lights can play lots of tricks with paint colors, though. Reminds me of when I was at the Orlando Regional a few years ago. Sodium house lights changed the color of somebody's Riverside Red car, to the point where Da Judge wanted to ding him for a full color deduct. I knew the car, and saw it outside in the natural light.....it was Riv Red alright. The owner was slightly pissed. Situation was finally resolved to everyone's satisfaction.

Re: Early Report From Bloomington
Here is a photo album of pics I took yesterday. Most of what I have is video, but that's more difficult to post. If I ever get a chance to edit the video, maybe I can put it online.

Re: Early Report From Bloomington
When my dad and I were there, it was 98 degrees and very humid. We're from Seattle where we put on shorts when the temps get over 65. It was brutal for us. Most of the time we sat in the shade, smoked cigars and drank lots of water.

Late Report From Bloomington
We had a great turnout this year....LOTS of gorgeous cars, and yes, it was HOT. But I saw a LOT of beers & waters being consumed, so the heat was dealt with accordingly. And I thought the show was just much more organized than in past years...and the '57's and the Gold cars were great to see. I can't believe the business the C4-5-6 exhaust guys (Borla, Corsa, etc) were doing....now having a C4-5-6 with stock pipes is probably a rarity! LOTS of guys hauling the original pipes that were removed back to their trucks & booths....We counted something like 650+ cars on the Road Tour this year. Unfortunately, 95% were C4-5-6's with new exhausts! Would have been nice to see more '57's and such actually get driven. There were a few from the SACC, and my hat goes off to them, they were great. And Kudos go to the ONE REGISTERED '82 for the Silver Salute. The Fox Valley Corvette Club did an outstanding job of organizing the stagings, and there were great turnouts from clubs from all over the country. Now, can't wait for Carlisle.....- Top
