I've done some testing and I'm fairly confident that my horn relay has gone bad (clicking at the relay with no horn sound; by-pass the realy and get horn to sound through the harness jumped to the battery). Before I spend $75 or more on a correct relay, is it worth buying a NAPA brand one first to be sure? Are they that different in style and price?

Re: C-3 70 horn relay
Jim - Your call on buying a NAPA horn relay but you have done some troubleshooting.
Yes, I would expect the NAPA horn relay to not be an older style Delco-Remy relay and even if it's a newer Delco which I doubt if will be, it will definitely be different in appearance than the original GM p/n 1115890.

Jim
I had the same thing last year. Here is what I did to fix it.
Remove relay from fender,Clean the wires with a dremel wire brush/note how wires are on relay.
Take relay to a table and sit down. Flip relay up side down there are 2 tabs that hold the part together, slowly lift them up .Pull the 2 halfs a part.NOW there is a small hair wire DO not break it!Now next to that are the contacts.Hold open the contacts andtake 320 sand paper and clean .1 stroke each side Do not rub hard.put the 2 parts together turn down tabs no one will now you were in.Rewire beep your horn.Let me know Denny72- Top

Re: C-3 70 horn relay
Pete, Denny and Phil, Thanks, I don't know why I didn't think of that. I did the very same type of fixes on my headlight switch, heater power switch and the dreaded tach mounted wiper door vacuum coil thing with very good results. I'll give it a try...
