Need any help locating a 1964 Couple that was sold at the 2004 Bloomington Auction. Not much that I could tell you but, Black with Saddle Int. 375 Fuel Injection, Power Windows, Power Brakes, PV Award, Duntov Award,Bloomington Gold Award. Anyone remember this car??

Yes. Jim Mattison was looking at it for a friend who was interested in buying it. You might want to email him and inquire.

      Black and tan '64?

I apologize for highjacking this thread. I do have a question regarding this color combination. I was under the impression that '64 was the only year among the midyear cars that a saddle interior was not offered with black exterior.

I know someone that ordered a black car in '64 that wanted a saddle interior but was told he could not have it. He settled for the black and white combination interior with leather seats.

Since the car mentioned in the original post has attained the listed judging levels it would seem that car has a legitimate trim tag indicating black and tan. Is it known if this car is a legitimate COPO car?

      Can someone enlighten me please?

A "non-recommended" interior trim color (like saddle with a black exterior) didn't necessarily require a COPO, as all the saddle interior parts were already in the plant, for use with other exterior colors. These "non-recommended" combinations could be ordered by the dealer with a "trim combination override" on the order, which was approved at the Zone Office level.
