Is this a correct nut and bolt from a front stabalizer bar attachment for 1963. I have always wondered where this nut went and the other day I was looking at a 64 that had large nuts like this to attach the stabalizer bar to frame so I thought I would ask on the DB. Thanks for the input, Tim

Re: 1963 front stabalizer nut and bolt
Tim, Henry Ford used to use oversize nuts like that one in your pick. Don't forget you need the correct washer for the long stabalizer bolt also. You know which one I am talking about. Same as the front shock washer. Check your aims to confirm this. JD- Top

Re: 1963 front stabalizer nut and bolt
The bolt looks correct to attach the bar to the frame but the nut is the one used on the long link bolt to attach the bar to the lower arm. The link nuts were one wrench size larger than a normal nut that thread size.
I think both your fasteners are correct 63 stabilizer fasteners just not used together as pictured, Robert- Top

Re: 1963 front stabalizer nut and bolt
Both the link bolt and its nut were oddball "non-standard" fasteners; the WB2C bolt was 5/16"-24 fine thread with a 9/16" hex head (instead of the standard 1/2"), and the matching fine thread nut also had a 9/16" hex instead of the standard 1/2" hex for that thread size. I also recall that the nut was significantly thicker than a "standard" nut.- Top

Yes John I think thats right. In the posted pic, I believe the nut is as you describe with a 5/16 thread but takes a 9/16 wrench instead of the usual 1/2.
The bolt pictured appears to be the one that attaches the sway bar bracket to the frame.RJ- Top
