    1969 tri power corvette

I am looking at what is claimed to be a 1969 435 Hp tri-power. How can I check? since the tank sticker is missing, all of the other componets appear to be in place. What would a car in ruff condition be worth? Could a 435 Hp ar have power steering or was the oil pan to large to allow this option?

    Thanks for your help.

    Nino,

The option N40 (power steering) was available with L71. Without factory or dealership paperwork of some kind absolute proof of this option is not possible. As to value, consider a fully restored examples value and start deducting the costs of everything needed on this car to arrive at projected value.

I'm certainly no expert, but I thought I read that all 435HP used 1 large 4-barrel carb instead of 3 deuces. Am I wrong?

        John,

The L71 (435hp/427cid) only used the tri-power induction set-up, that was it's claim to fame sort of.

Some BB items to look for but not specific to L71 only.

          Front spring codes:

          EA HD(F41) Suspension
          HS STD 350
          HT 327/350 w/AC
          HU STD 427
          HV 427 w/AC

          Tach used:
          5300 350/300
          5600 427/390, 427/400
          6000 350/350
          6500 350/370(LT1), 427/435, 427/430 (L88 & ZL1)

ALL BB and F41 suspensions came with rear sway bar.

          Both 350 and 427 came with 2 fuel lines. Holley equipped (3X2, L88, LT1 & ZL1) had a single line.

Halfshaft forged caps for BB, strap bolts for the SB
          Console data plate
          Emission decal under the hood.
A/C not available on engines over 400 HP.

All BB had a plastic shroud or no shroud(L88 & ZL1).

SB had both plastic w/copper radiator and metal shrouds w/aluminum radiators.

          Radiator part numbers:
          3155316 SB Aluminum
          3018803 SB Copper
          3019190 BB Copper
          3007436 L88/ZL1 Aluminum
