Currently have a '73 vette L48, 4 speed. Car has T-tops and large back window. Haven't noticed any other '73's with a large back window. Is the large back window on this year unusual. Originally green with tan interior. If not unusual, this car will soon be red with a black interior. Would appreciate any accurate info. Thanks.

Re: '73 vette - large back window
If it's not like the '78-'82 "curved glass", then it may have been from a kit I believe someone like Eckler's did in the late '70s. There is a Maroon '77 near me that had had this done to it. It used '80 Chevrolet Monza 2+2 glass inbetween the "fins" on the deck lid. It also had major work done to move the fuel fill area towards the rear of the car(may have also used a '78-'82 fuel tank). Your '73 may have had a similar kit installed on it.- Top

Re: '73 vette - large back window
The window opening is roughly 23 1/2" at the tallest point and 40 3/4" at its' widest. The car is stripped bare at this point. The window almost makes it look like a fast back. The flying buttresses are almost nonexistent. The fuel filler is in stock location. It has had previous rear damage repaired before-(tailight panel, filler panel, left bumper,)nothing serious though as there isn't any frame damage. All appearances are that it isn't cut in. If it is a kit some-one did a nice job. Ordinarily I prefer restoration over "restification" but with color, interior combination, missing seats junk interior prior body damage etc. unless it's unusual this one just isn't worth it.- Top
