That is Darrell Davis's beautiful Cascade Green 57 Fuelie and Darrell in the backround with the cigar. Loren Lundberg to the left of Dick.
Jim was the MC of the Owners & Drivers roundtable discussion..with the owner of each Special Collection car given a few minutes to tell the history of their car.
The collection of cars was a once in a lifetime gathering..that included the newly restored Rosenthal Chevrolet / Bark Henry #114 airbox racecar owned by John Neas, The newly restored Bob Howe airbox racecar owned by Bill Connell, the newly restored Bob Mouat #57 racecar owned by the Hussey brothers, Ken Kayser's VIN #162 Pilot build 57 fuelie and many others in race and stock trim.
We were fortunate to also have Paul Goldsmith fly in for two hours to visit with the owners and sign autographs as requested ( still flying at the age of 81 ). Paul drove my factory racecar back in 57 and we have become good friends. He set the speed record on the beach at Daytona in 1957, was 5 time national motorcycle champion, won the last Daytona Beach Race in 1958 in a Smokey Yunick car, was USAC national stock car champ in 1961 and 1962 and is the only driver to run the Indy 500, the Daytona 500 and the Daytona 200..plus so much more. A very kind and generous gentlemen.
Many thanks to Jim Gessner for his dedication to this hobby..
