I've often wondered if there was a scientific basis founded in air dynamics for actually determining the optimum height for the cut down wiindscreens on race cars of this period. Say a fromula that took into consideration degrees of windscreen slant from the perpendicular, vehicle speed, driver height and COF of the windscreen in various conditions, i.e., with bugs, with oil, bugs and oil, etc)or did they just cut and try until the driver said "that'll do." I always figured it to be the latter. Duke?
