Searching the archives I found the thread that describes the rivet set tool. I will need to put together the headlight end plate and fiberglass outer piece that attaches to it using those straight stem soft aluminum rivets.
In the archive post I see in John Hinckley's pic a pneumatic air hammer and modified chisel used as a rivet set tool. The chisel itself has a concave end. It would appear that a drill bit is used to make this concave hole in the chisel end. I have an air chisel/air compressor, bits, etc. ..
Is it best to size a drill bit to make this concave hole roughly the same size diameter as the aluminum rivet stem itself? .. This would be to prevent totally collapasing the rivet stem. Or, does this really matter? ..
Is a larger size concave hole in the chisel end a better alternative to peen over the stem end? ..
