Just when you think you have a handle on things, somethingelse pops up! My 61 hardtop has the correct date codes on the side windows, both front and rear windows have been replaced (1975). Here's the problem, the headliner is red, in the correct vinly pattern/color as the rest of the interior. It looks to be a factory job, no indications of being a replacement and no evidence of being dyed. Over the weekend, I was going thru earlier issues of "The Restorer" and came across something in the Spring of 74 issue, which has me puzzled. "56-62 Hardtop Identification" by Mike Ernst. In the article Mike states the following..."all 61-62 Hardtops used only white headliners". I swear they came in red, white and black and, have seen many in those colors (actually, very few white). Have they all been dyed? Is there more information available? Please enlighten me!
