Very early 1957 T10 tail housing

I saw the ebay auction below. When was the T10 aluminum tail without SPAC and without a casting date made, what application had it, and about how many were cast? Is the one in the ebay auction for real?

I'd say it's real. For one thing, the T10-7 extension housing was used only for the 1957 model year.

my two original 57 t-10s were built in the april/may 57 time frame and both have casting dates on the tail housings. as i recall, both tails were cast in May of 57----both trannys are not easily accesable at this time so i'm guessing on the dates. i'm not familiar with non-cast dated 57 t-10 tailhousings . mike

Possibly a 58 with the SPAC and date removed. Earlist I've seen are April dated, late like 23rd as I recall. Gary....

I have seen T10-7 tail extensions on June/July 1957 assembled t-10's in 1958 Corvettes.
