    435

What's more valuable? A reproduction Cobra, or a 435. I was at your most recent Bloomington show and was tripping over all the 435's. How many more out there then were originally produced?

One thing nice about a repro Cobra is you know for sure its not the real deal and you don't have to convince someone otherwise when it comes time to sell it. I've never owned one myself but know of others that have and they all claimed to have a lot of fun with the cars.

just think of the trouble GM would have saved

corvette buyers if they had put one more letter or number signifying the engine size in the VIN. of course it would have put a lot of people out of the corvette hobby business.

I'm a big follower of the reproduction Cobras, the best on the block is the Kirkham aluminum model. They come in the beautiful "slabside" reproduction model up to the "Competition 427" replica. Prices for a completed Kirkham range from about $70,000 to $150,000 for a running car. There are some pretty poor replica companies out there, also. You can buy a running Cobra replica for $20,000 and it will get lots of attention, but is really nothing like an original. I'd take the best Cobra replica over an average '67 435 with no paperwork and the wrong engine, but I'd take the Corvette over all of the average Cobra replicas out there. One more thing to remember is that the values for the Cobra replica will be stagnant or falling, the Corvette should continue to increase or hold it's value.

excellent respone---67 or any year vet (any real make auto), is the real deal gm or other mfg's built auto---kit cars are just that a kit car, along with any after market dealer modified camaros, vets---motion--harrel--nickey they are kit cars period unless copo certified, they fall in the same catagory as the 30's 40's kit cars that hit real hard and now are soft---to me the only after factory kit car that is real is the shelby i.d. cars
