Another Oil Pan Question

Keen Corvette Parts lists a correct 65 4 quart oil pan w/ power steering for $269.

1. Does this oil pan require a baffle or can I use it as is? I ask because the main caps are all ready torqued and I hate mess with them.

2. I have a Melling 55-S3 oil pickup screen that is listed for a 327 corvette, would this be the correct screen for Keen's oil pan?

3. I have a oil pan that looks identical to the 65 4 quart oil pan w/ power steering but the dip stick tube is on the RH side vice the LH side. The drain plug is located at the rear centered. What year/car does this pan fit?

1) The "4 quart" (i.e. 4 quarts + 1 with filter change system) Corvette oil pan did not use an external baffle for ANY 1965 Corvette application and most other Corvette applications of this pan. So, you need not be concerned about installing any external baffle;

2) I don't know if the Melling 55-S3 is the correct oil pick-up screen for your application. However, the correct unit is still available from GM. That way, you know you're getting the right one. The GM part number is 3830080. This is a Corvette-only screen applicable to all 63-74 small blocks as well as 80-82 small blocks;

3)The oil pan you have is likely the 80-85 Corvette oil pan, assuming that it has the rear oil pan seal radius used for 2 piece seal small blocks.
