Re: pace performance still lists EOS in their

Clem and others, THe GM EOS is still available but has a new part number. Seems the stuff has a lot of numbers. I see that someone put the AC # on as 992704. On ebay I see it advertised as GM 12345501 cam and lifter pre-lube for 9.99. Shipping is not cheep.
If you want to buy the EOS from GM now the NEW PART # is 1052367 and it's readily available. I just ordered 3 bottles for the future-in case I am nuts enough to do this again. Meanwhile the EOS is all over the market as you and others have stated.Just different names-same crap..
I talked to a local engine builder and he said if you use the diesel oil with a good cam lube you probably would be OK. Probably is not a good word though.SO Clem I will have the stuff this weekend and heard it's really good in old fashions. Next time the gang has lunch I'll bring some. JD

There must be alot left on the dealers shelves. I just picked up 2 bottles from the local dealer. When I told him it was discontinued, he told me he got 4 cases delivered last week. I called another dealer and they have 2 cases on the self.

John the dealer I talked with said that the GM#1052367 is no longer used. He gave me the AC# for it. I'll check tomorrow again at the dealer as I have to pick up a part there.

Mike, Readily available from several GM dealers in our area. Or get it from AC. I mean how much of that stuff do we need? Need it for 1/2 hour or so for breakin. Any brand will work you know. JD

              John-----

The GM #1052367 engine oil supplement is discontinued without supercession. Dealers will not be able to get more of it from GM once the "pipeline is dry". It is not replaced by GM #12345501. GM #12345501 replaced GM #1052365 in 1995. Both products are a 4 oz tube of a special grease used to apply to camshafts and lifters at the time of engine assembly. They are not "pourable" and cannot be added to the crankcase as an oil supplement.

GM #992704 and GM #992869 are GM of Canada only products. They cannot be ordered or purchased in the USA. Whether each or either of these products is the same as the GM #1052367 engine oil supplement, I do not know.

Until recently discontinued, GM #1052367 had been around for almost 26 years under that part number.

                  GM Canada #992869

I was a the chev dealer this morning and asked to see a bottle of #992869. It is a half liter bottle with AC Delco and Engine Oil Supplement on it. I'm not sure if its the same product as #1052367 but the dealer seemed to think it was. This product the dealer said they can still order in and always have some in stock.

                      Re: GM Canada #992869

Mike, Did you ever see a product have some many part numbers? I assume you are in Canada. Joe says it's a Can. product. Well bring some across the border and help us poor folks who daily are finding out that the stuff they like here is soon deleted. I love Fel-pro cobond contact adhesive. Well it's history. Like everything else anymore. Everybody keeps buying everybody and soon you have no clue as who has what. JD

Yup. That's exactly how it was. Also, there used to be 2 different EOS products. One was Super Engine Oil Supplement and the other was just "regular" Engine Oil Supplement. Both were discontinued about 25 years ago and replaced by the product recently discontinued.

                          Re: GM Canada #992869

                          Mike-----

For the most part, the difference between the GM of Canada and the US-supplied GM maintenance products is the packaging size. US-marketed products use the English system of ounces, pints and quarts with the equivalent metric system conversion in parentheses (usually an "oddball" number). Canadian products are packaged in metric system quantities. If the label has the same product DESCRIPTION, though, then the products are likely the same.

As to whether the EOS will continue to be available in Canada while it's discontinued in the US, only time will tell. Even the US product is still fairly available right now. That's because dealers have an inventory of this. When they order the NEXT order, they may find out. The same might be true for Canada. Your dealer might not have actually ordered any lately. Also, stocks of the Canadian product might still be in GM of Canada warehouses. So, they won't actually discontinue the item until the stocks are exhausted.
