It is currently in a 67 convertible. The code stamped on the bottom is as follows; 2AV111567W. I have looked in both the corvette by the numbers as well as chevrolet by the numbers and cant find any number close to this. My guess would be an aftermarket rear of some kind even though some of the numbers might make some degree of sense. Can anyone please identify it. The code is stamped where the normal rear stamping would be.

John-----
It can't be aftermarket; no one but GM ever made PRODUCTION-like carriers for Corvette differentials.
Anyway, the "AV" code was used for 1968 and 1969 Corvettes with 427 and 3.08:1 axle ratio. The W at the end most likely refers to the Warren Gear and Axle plant where Corvette differential units were manufactured. The digits in the series I cannot decipher. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
