    C2 Quarter Trim Differences

    All,

I am in the process of restoring the interior on a 65 convertible and noticed the below differences on the interior quarter trim (see photo). I looked at some of the aftermarket warehouses but they do not indicate any differences for this part 1963-1967. I also looked at these parts on my 67, the left and right are similar to the part on the right in the photo. Is the part to the left of the picture for a 1963 with the pinchwelt?

    Thanks
    Daniel

Have a Mar64 The part on the right looks similar The height is .700 where yours is .625, however I'm measuring on outside and could be off by .025. In either case the small hole on both parts is not on a 64 C2

      Alan,

Interesting, I thought that the small hole held the carpet back in that area and would exist on all convertible C2's. I guess not as you have an example to prove otherwise.

      Thanks for checking!

63s were different where the pinch welt goes for sure. I cant tell if that is a 63 from the picture. There are small holes in both of them. The position of the small hole was at the whim of the installer of the carpet. It could be anywhere in the general area.

As I recall the use of the screw to hold the carpet started in 64 or 65?

Late '65 conv. Quarter Trim panel

Daniel -- here's 2 shots of my driver side. There's a double bevel, and like Wayne W. says, they put the small screw hole all over the map. Pass side small hole is roughly the same relative location.

Link below shows mold markings on the backside. Inside the small oval are the letters MFG, which I believe was one of the fiberglass suppliers.

Sorry I can't answer your panel config on the left

              Thanks Wayne!

I took a look at the part numbers on the panels I posted pictures of earlier. The left part # is 18433 and the right part # is 18425 (the same as in your photo).

Also, here are some additional photos comparing two driver side parts. I realize the differences are minor but would like to figure out why.
