1957 Front Fuel Injection Emblem

I've found holes for a FI emblem on the front of my car. The Judging Guide and Nolan Adams book are fairly clear that this is incorrect. Does anyone have another take on this issue? I want to make sure before I cover the holes.

In case it matters, my car is a mid April car. Any opinions would be appreciated.

I have VIN 3367 which is a 3rd week of April FI car. There are no holes in the front for the emblem. I have been told that the "Fuel Injection" emblem was never added to the front of production cars.

I'll lurk and see what the experts have to say.

I'm VIN 3382, so we are close to each other. I agree with you by the way. I would like to see what others say as well.

neither vin 1093 nor 4450 had any holes in the front top surround for the fi emblem. fill the holes for judging. mike

I'd be inclined to fill the holes whether...

...I was having the car judged or not. Don't believe that front FI emblem idea ever reached reality... Probably kinda in the same basket with the McCullough Supercharger badging...

I have a late '57 5500 range and am the third owner with 29k original miles. It has the front emblem and the original owner says it was that way on the showroom floor so I have to assume the dealer installed it I guess. I decided to leave it that way.

My car was purchased from Nickey Chicago, so I suppose it would be possible that it was added there.
