1964 holley 2818

Just put on a rebuilt holley and can't get the choke to operate. I don't see the pulloff working when the car starts and the choke plate is not opening as it is heated. Any ideas?

check if the pull off is operational,with a hand operated vacuum pump or just use mouth vacuum, and the the choke bimetalic spring can be checked by putting the unit under hot water it see if if the spring moves. if both are OK you may have a linkage assy problem causing a bind.
