    1960 FUEL INJECTION IDLE

I just purchased a 1960 Fuely, and I am not in possesion of a FI Manual. The System works great, except for a very, very, low idle(600 rpm). Now, don't laugh! I do not want to mess around with a system that is working except for increasing the idle speed. Since I don't have a manual at this very minute, what screw will increase my idle speed, after she is warmed up.
    Thanks!

The large screw (with spring) on the right side of the airmeter is the bypass for idle air. Is it a 250hp or 290hp car? 600 would be ok on a 250hp, maybe a little high, 675 Idle would be better for a 290 car. The small screw on the right side is the idle fuel mixture, don't mess with that if all else is ok, just adjust the air bypass to change idle speed.

      Steve,

Bill gave you good advice, I just put my '60 FI back together and had to djust it. I suggest you invest in a service manual or more from the NCRS store. It will be well worth it. Don H.

Steve, Buy the Corvette Servicing Guide-ST 12 manual. The Mortimyer's stock it for sure at a discount. It has the the world's best FI manual in it for 58 to 62. Also very useful for the midyear units also. Not much good for 57's though. Don't waste money on a separate manual.Read the theory over and over again. Also read the trouble shooting section.
Don't be like most and just worry about turning the screwdriver. If you are going to own a fuel car you must learn what makes it ticks. The theory can teach you that. Good luck with your new toy. John

Thanks for all of the assistance, but who, what, and where is "Mortimyer's"?

          Thanks,
          Steve

Steve, Sorry as I did not know you were not a member of NCRS. I see you belong to the Flint Corvette Club. Anyhow go to the top of the page here and click on NCRS store and you will see Gary and Eric Mortimyer's name as the head cheese to order supplies, etc. at a discount. With a car like yours and you hungry for info I highly suggest you join up. I am sure we all would love to have you. John

              Steve -

John D. is referring to the NCRS on-line store (click at the top of the page); the store is run by Eric and Gary Mortimer.

Thanks again. Also, I am a member of NCRS, but I was unaware of who ran the store.
                Regards,
