C2 AC wiring harness question

Is the high speed blower wire (red in line fused wire) also wrapped with tape as is the engine harness or is it a separate wire outside of the wrapped harness bundle? I am referring to the general area on the drivers side fender.

I found no reference in the NCRS TIM&JG just a description of fuse holder.

Since the ac harness is not part of the engine harness I would guess it is separate.

Randy -- I'm shooting from the hip on this one as it's not a '65 that I'm familiar with, but your 1966 A/C harness is incorporated into the engine harness (assembly is one part #). The in-line fuse you refer to on the 12 gauge red wire goes immediately into the wrapped harness. The wiring for the plugs to the blower relay and resistor, and the green wire to compressor coil all remain outside the wrapped harness on the passenger side. This A/C engine harness (from the RH) continues to the firewall connections (siameses with the headlight wiring at this point for '66) then continues onto the alternator and horn relay on the driver side.

So that red blower wire is wrapped in the harness all the way from the in-line fuse to the horn relay on the rad support (with no intermediate connections).

Here's a photo of what my 67 A/C car looks like along the driver's side fender. The red wire with the in-line fuse is not wrapped inside the harness.

Hi Randy:

My car has been judged twice at the chapter level and once at the regional level, and so far no judges have complained about the red wire being outside of the harness. That doesn't necessarily mean it's correct, though, since most judges are not very familiar with the details of A/C cars. Also, remember that my car is a 67, not a 66 like yours.

This might be something that you could figure out by studying the 66 AIM. In theory, the C60 section at the back should show what changes were made to the base configiration when C60 was added.
