Need help identifying an engine in a 67 roadster that I saw today. Engine I.D.# is 7105328 VII25HO. The right head has I.D. GM11 K286 (or K236) 3890462 which is good for a 327 300 or 350hp. The left head has GM15 unable to get the rest of the #s. Thanks Brian

Re: Engine I.D.
Brian --- sounds like you were looking at an 327 / 300hp engine in a '67 Corvette with Powerglide. The last 6 digits of the VIN tag and engine (105328) should match, if original to that car. The head is probably cast dated K 23 6 (Nov 23rd '66), 'cause if it was K28, it would have been cast after the engine was assembled [Nov 25th].- Top

Re: Engine I.D.
The serial number of this car is likely 194677S105328 which was an early December '66 built car.
7105328= 1967 model year and the 5,328th Corvette built in that model year.
V1125HO V= Flint final machining and assembly 1125= November 25, 1966 HO= Corvette 327/300hp with Powerglide
Right head GM11 is the mould number K286 = November 28, 1966
These dates are proximate to the build of the car and I would be satisfied with them.
Casting number and date of he block would always be helpful to see if everything "jives". I have seem re-stamps where someone was "sleeping" when they stamped it because the assembly date preceded the cast date. Tough thing to do in reality.- Top
