    Best Route to Marlborough from Eastern NC

    I have never traveled by vehicle as far north as Marlborough before. I know the nearest route to Marlborough from Eastern NC is I-95. Is there a better route to take to miss the big cities? I was thinking maybe to cross over from I-95 to I-81 to I-84 to 90. Your input would be appreciated. I will be pulling my trailer with the queen on board. Thanks, Jimmy

      You are on the right track . I am going from Western NC via 77, 81,84, avoiding the usual cluster on I-95. You can probably go to Richmond and take I 64 to I 81. Then again you could get to I 40W, go to
      Winston Salem and take 421 North to I 77N.

          I travel south fairly frequently and I use I-84 to I-81. I-95 is a nightmare for me. As you come north I-84 will put you on I-90 which will go to I-495.

              Join up with the FI Road Tour from Cumberland

              MD on Thursday, July 19th. Gonna drive lots of PA back roads with covered bridges and make a stop at Carlisle to see Chip Miller collection. Road Tours are loads of fun. Non Corvettes permitted also. See the Driveline for Registration information. Gary....

                  We traveled from Mass. to Charlotte for the 2007 and 2004 regionals. Also do the Mass. to Carlisle run every year so we've tried all the possible routes. I think the best route to Massachusetts is 81 into Pa. then Rte. 78 to Rte. 287 thru NJ. Go over the Tappan Zee Bridge to the Saw Mill Parkway to Rte. 684 in NY and then to Rte. 84 in Connecticut. 84 to the Massachusetts Turnpike to Route 495N. Avoid 95 at all costs. 880 miles from Charlotte. Have a safe trip and look foward to seeing you there.

                          Joining up with a Road Tour would be great....if you decided to do it a month ago. I think the registration is closed.
